MarketBuilder: Driving your MSP marketing, socials, and more

Please Note: The following article details the experience one of our partners had using MarketBuilder. As such, individual results may vary.
When asked about N‑able MarketBuilder, George Ioannides’ response is effusive: “I love it.”
Although George, who owns Cleveland, Ohio-based MSP, Fidelity Systems, hasn’t yet been able to use MarketBuilder to its full potential, he’s an avid user of its social media and marketing capabilities. “Once a week I set up automated posts using MarketBuilder. I’ll go in there, maybe modify the images prior to initiating that campaign and it works flawlessly for what I want to do.”
This gives George an easy way to talk with prospects for his MSP or even his existing customers. “I can say: ‘Hey, follow us on LinkedIn or Facebook, I’m posting something every week about stuff like cybersecurity or the manufacturing industry’,” says George. “I find they like that and they’re engaging with me.”
George adds that there are a couple of other social sites that are not part of MarketBuilder, but he says he manually does these posts himself, which takes him less than “10 minutes”.
Of course, one of the key challenges of being a small MSP is that time and resources can be scarce, particularly if you’re faced with staff changes, and this has been a key factor impacting George’s ability to explore MarketBuilder to its full MSP marketing capabilities. “There are parts of MarketBuilder I haven’t been able to get into as much as I would have liked, such as the campaigns,” he says. “Mailing out a campaign and then following up takes time, which at the moment I’m struggling to find due to changes in my business.”
Having said that, George did get to run a small email campaign to test it out. “I sent out one campaign to a small group of 30 different businesses,” he explains. “From this I was able to book two meetings and have one of those prospects waiting to ‘pull the trigger’ on a managed services contract. So, I know it works.”
MarketBuilder’s landing pages are another area George is looking to explore. “I’m actually going to start looking into the landing pages today because the SEO and web designer we’re using needs landing pages—five to be exact,” he continues. “So, I’m going to be looking into how we can incorporate MarketBuilder into our website from an SEO perspective.”
He’s also expressed an interest in MarketBuilder’s capability to help with blogging and MSP content marketing. “We try to do monthly blogging, but have fallen behind over the past month or so,” he explains. “I’m hoping we could maybe use that as a service as well from MarketBuilder.”
In terms of quantifying MarketBuilder’s impact, George says this is hard to do as this is the first time he has done any marketing, so he has nothing to compare it to. “Until I started using MarketBuilder all I had done was create a website and hope people would give me a call,” he says. “Believe it or not, that worked until recently. I didn’t have to do anything I would just get submissions from my website.”
MarketBuilder is helping George start to bridge that recently-emerged gap and start to level up his marketing in a way other platforms would struggle to do.
“There are plenty of marketing platforms around that I could have gone out and got, but one of the great things about MarketBuilder is that it’s MSP specific,” he enthuses. “It does 50% of the job for me, and that’s supplying all the content I need. It’s often just a simple matter of tweaking a few key words, changing a few sentences, modifying a PDF, or incorporating my logo. I just need to go out there and use that content. So, MarketBuilder is definitely a product I would recommend.”
